The murder of a 79-year old man who had just parked his car upon arriving at his home is being attributed to a family inheritance conflict. On Saturday, according to press reports, engineer Rafael Humberto Perez Savinon was shot to death when arriving at his apartment in Calle Respaldo Rafael Augusto Sanchez, Naco. It was reported that one of his sons, Victor Duverge was killed by suspected contract killers on the same spot on 24 December. Rafael Humberto Perez Duverge, son and brother of the victims, said he suspects members of his father's family of being behind the crimes because of a legal case on land ownership, as reported in Listin Diario. Savinon is survived by his wife Zoila Duverge and three living sons.
Police spokesman Nelson Rosario said that Perez Savinon had been murdered by men traveling on a motorcycle. His body was hit by three bullets.
