DR1 Daily News will not be updated on Wednesday, 16 August on occasion of the celebration of the Restoration Day holiday. Restoration Day commemorates 16 August 1865 when Dominicans patriots restored sovereignty from Spain. This year, the holiday is celebrated on a day of the week and not converted into a long weekend because new legislators will be sworn in for their four-year term. Wednesday news will be compiled for the Thursday, 17 August issue.
