The United States Embassy has confirmed the cancellation of PRSC Senator elect for La Altagracia Amable Aristy Castro's tourist visa (B1/B2). Aristy Castro is the current secretary general of the Dominican Municipal League that oversees city governments. The US Embassy did not give the reasons for the cancellation. Aristy Castro was mentioned in the recent scandal involving the sale of visas to members of city governments, but was not included in the case. In previous cases, public officials have been able to travel using visas granted due to their status as government officers.
