Dominicans who have visas to travel to the United States, Canada or the European Union do not need visas to travel to Panama. Panama's ambassador in the DR, Alberto Magno Castillero Pinilla told El Caribe that this has been effective since December 2009, but few Dominicans are aware of the advantage. He said that Panama is an important business center for Dominicans.
