Last night the President designated new directors for the Preventive Police and for the "Safe Barrio Program", and the chief of the National Police introduced other changes in several areas of investigations and prevention. By means of Decree 613-10, President Leonel Fernandez appointed Brigadier General Valentin Rosado Vicioso as the new director of the Preventive Police, in substitution of General Juan Brown Perez, who will have other functions within the institution, although they were not specified.
Presidential Decree 614-10 designated General Miguel Raul de la Cruz Reyna as the new director of the Community Police and Colonel Daniel Ramos Alvarez as the national general coordinator of the Barrio Seguro Program, in substitution of General de la Cruz Reyna. The chief of the National Police, Major General Jose A. Polanco Gomez designated Colonel Guillermo Baez Ubiera as the commander of the Department of Investigations of Stolen Vehicles and Colonel Edgar Medina Farias as head of the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Persons.
