Playing in the tough pool D against China, Russia, South Korea, Turkey and Canada, the DR Women's Volleyball Team will not come home without a single win from the FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship. In its final game against Canada, the DR bested the Canadian women in four sets. This was their first victory on the final day of the first-round action at the Osaka City Municipal Gymnasium in Japan. The game was heavily contested until the third set when the Dominican team dominated. The game ended with the scores 21-25, 28-26, 25-11, 25-20.
