Former US Vice President and environmental activist Al Gore held a 40-minute meeting with President Leonel Fernandez at the Presidential Palace yesterday. Gore, the president of the Thinking Green Foundation, was the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
The Presidency reported that they discussed climate change and its effects on the global economy and international politics. Also present were Administrative Secretary of the Presidency Luis Manuel Bonetti, Rosa Bonetti de Santana, president of the Propagas Foundation that is sponsoring his visit here, and Omar Ramirez, presidential advisor on climate change.
