President Leonel Fernandez attended the inaugural of the Cartier store at Blue Mall on Av. Winston Churchill yesterday, 4 November. Speaking at the event, Fernandez said that the store's opening was evidence of the company's confidence in the stability and growth of the Dominican economy. "To be able to buy highly sophisticated products like those sold by Cartier, one needs a society with segments with that kind of consumption capacity," he commented.
The President said that the store's opening proved that the DR is entering the 21st century and modern age, as reported by the Presidency website. Also speaking at the event was the president of Cartier in the DR, Rafi Venzo.
