The Dominican Republic has dropped five notches to position 91 of 183 countries in the World Bank Group Doing Business 2011 Report released yesterday. For the report, economies are ranked on their ease of doing business from 1-183. The index averages the country's percentile rankings on nine topics: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and closing a business. The DR fared worst in starting a business and registering property. The DR's best scores in the analysis were in protecting investors and trading across borders.
