The authorities in the Haitian border town of Ouanaminthe have been allowing people to enter since the early morning hours of Sunday, laden with chickens, frozen and live, as well as other foodstuffs for the local population. According to El Caribe newspaper, dozens of people from the so-called "potea" crossed the border to the commercial area of Dajabon, where they purchased foods and other products.
This comes after the fourth failure to hold a bi-national market, and the authorities have still not come to an agreement aimed at imposing health controls in response to the cholera outbreak and the commercial activities at the same time.
