Dominican jockey Joel Rosario landed the US$1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile race during the 2010 Breeders' Cup World Championships in a photo finish on Saturday at Churchill Downs. He clocked in at 1:35.29. He was riding Dakota Phone. Betters backing his horse landed a US$77.40 payoff because the odds were 37-1. He bested Morning Line, Gayego, Tizway and Here Comes Ben, the favorites. 22-year old Joel Rosario moved to the US from the DR in 2006. So far this year Rosario has won 250 races and earned more than US$12 million for his owners. In this 2010 season he has won at Churchill Downs, Keeneland and Saratoga races.
