Pro Consumidor handles tourist complaints, too

Altagracia Paulino, director of Pro Consumidor, the government department in charge of consumer protection, says that she is helping tourists who have submitted complaints of fraud. She said that some 1,000 tourists presented claims last year, mostly related to a company that sold them fake tourism packages. Speaking in Samana yesterday, she announced that the local municipal council would soon have a Pro Consumidor office, which would serve both residents and tourists, as reported in Hoy.
