The State Electricity Companies (CDEEE) said that yesterday's sudden shutdown in the system of two important generators affected hundreds of thousands of customers in the metropolitan area for several hours. They apologized for the inconvenience and reported that the Tavera I, Haina Gas, Valdesia, La Vega and Pimentel were able to make up for some of the power loss. AES Itabo and Itabo I both dropped off line. The former was due to a problem in the electronic card and the latter was due to a problem in the boiler.
