The Executive Branch has appointed Major General Ramon A. Aquino Garcia as the new Armed Forces Minister, replacing Major General Sigfrido Pared Perez who was appointed as Director of the National Investigations Department. Aquino Garcia had previously served as Chief of Presidential Military Aides. Major General Nelson Marmolejos and Major General Jose Ricardo Estrella Fernandez were appointed as Deputy Ministers of the Armed Forces, and General Juan Antonio Campusano as Army Chief of Staff. Rear Admiral Ivan Pena Castillo, formerly president of the drug control department (DNCD) was appointed to the post of Navy Chief of Staff. General Pedro Rafael Pena Antonio, as Air Force Chief of Staff.
Hugo Gonzalez Borrell, former military attache at the Embassy of Washington, was appointed Insepctor General of the Armed Forces.
PLD Secretary of Legal Affairs Radhames Jimenez Pena was appointed to the post of Attorney General, Salvador Jimenez was appointed Agriculture Minister, and Flavia Garcia has replaced Gladys Gutierrez as Women's Affairs Minister. Other changes include Ruben Montas and Aristides Fernandez Zucco who were appointed as presidents of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery and the National Energy Commission, respectively. Ruben Montas was formerly in charge of the National Energy Commission. Quilvio Cabrera was appointed to the post of Director General of the Dominican Agrarian Institute and Aristipo Vidal is the Administrator of the INAVI (National Aid and Housing Institute). Jose Francisco Zapata is the new Administrator of the National Properties Management Department, whereas Hector Rodriguez Pimentel is the new Director of INDESUR. Other changes included chiefs and deputy ministers of all branches of the Armed Forces, the National Drug Control Department (DNCD) and provincial governors.
