Dominicans at the Latin Grammys

Several Dominican artists scored big time at the annual Latin Grammy ceremony held at the fabulous Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Juan Luis Guerra got everyone dancing with his new hit, "La guagua va en reversa" (The bus is going backwards). Joseito Mateo won a Grammy for Musical Excellence. Juan Luis Guerra won three Grammys: One for "Bachata en Fukuoka" as the Best Song of the Year; "A son de guerra", a play on his name, won Best Tropical Album of the Year and Best Album of the Year. The show closed with a special appearance by Johnny Ventura, the "Best Horse", along with Gilberto Santa Rosa. Pavel Nunez was also a candidate in his first nomination.
