President Leonel Fernandez has met with his former right-hand man, Danilo Medina Sanchez, according to Jose Laluz, a Gobierno de la Manana radio talk show commentator. Relations between Fernandez and Medina have been difficult since the latter challenged the President's presidential nomination in 2004. Hoy reporters say Medina was not available to confirm the meeting had taken place. Medina is running as presidential pre-candidate for the PLD once again. President Leonel Fernandez is banned from running for President in 2012 by the 2010 Constitution, but his party has the majority in Congress and could introduce modifications that would allow him to be the PLD candidate.
