University students call for zero tax on Internet

Dozens of students attending the Third Edition of the Model UN on Higher Education, Science and Technology voiced their support for the legislative proposal by Deputy Pelegrin Castillo that calls for the elimination of the taxes on the Internet. In a written statement, students from the nation's leading universities expressed their support for the initiative, and committed themselves to working to ensure the bill was passed. Castillo said that such support, as reported in El Nuevo Diario, was proof that the students were becoming aware of the importance of the Internet in the development of the economic and social interests in the country.
