The Ministry of Foreign Relations has instructed the Dominican Honorary Consul in Lebanon, Michel Mattar, and in Jordan, Said Hanna, to find out about the plight of a group of Dominican citizens who were hired to work as truck drivers in Jordan by a private company. The information was given by Deputy Minister of Consular Affairs, Rosario Graciano de los Santos, who stated that "We asked our consuls to carry out an urgent investigation into the case. As soon as we receive the corresponding report, we will decide how to proceed in this case and offer aid to these Dominicans," as reported by Diario Libre. According to the truck drivers' families, the company abandoned them and withdrew their working licenses. The Dominicans in Jordan are Wilson Campana, Odalis Disone, Jose Ramon Garcia, Rafael Perez, Jose Ricardo Figueres, Humberto Vasquez, Jose Ramon Gomez, Jose Luis Jimenez, Faustino Moreno, Robinson Ponciano, Jose Mercedes Zorrilla, Pedro Rosario, Teodoro Adames and Alfredo Castillo.
