Interest in renewable energy sources

The government is developing an integral plan of distribution, transmission and generation of electrical energy that includes the use of less expensive power plants based on renewable energy sources, according to Radhames Segura, vice president of the Corporation of State-Owned Electricity Companies (CDEEE). A report by Diario Libre indicates that several hydro-electrical projects are under development such as Pinalito (50 MW); Palomino (100 MW); Las Placetas (87 MW) and Artibonito (47 MW).
