Funglode Film Festival

The 4th Funglode Film Festival was inaugurated yesterday at the National Theater in Santo Domingo in the presence of President Leonel Fernandez and First Lady Margarita Cedeno. Special guests this year include Claudia Cardinale, Victoria Abril, Jimmy Jean Louis and Benicio del Toro. The event is dedicated to Arturo Rodriguez, who died recently after dedicating a lifetime to educating Dominicans about good cinema and promoting a Dominican film industry. The festival is being held simultaneously at venues in Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Nagua, Higuey and Haiti.
