Attorney General Radhames Jimenez told reporters yesterday that the authorities are working on a project to block the use of cell phones in the country's jails. This measure is likely to have been spurred by the recent revelations in the case of the attempted murder of lawyer Jordi Veras, which was set up through conversations over cell phones from the Rafey Men's Prison in Santiago. Jimenez said that the project would cover the traditional prisons as well as all the new model institutions.
