The Second Collegiate Tribunal of the National District has accepted a request to withdraw the penal accusations against National Bank of Credit (BanCredito) executives Manuel Arturo Pellerano and Juan Felipe Mendoza who are accused of violations of Law 183-02 of the Monetary Code, and are currently in jail in Najayo. According to El Nuevo Diario, the tribunal headed by judges Ingrid Fernandez, Felipe Molina and Suinda Jazmin Brito accepted the withdrawal of the charges following an agreement signed by the parties involved which brings the litigation to a close. The Justice Department and the National Directorate for the Prosecution of Corruption were in agreement with the judges' decision. The Pellerano Group agreed to pay RD$10.3 billion to the Central Bank over 12 years.
