The Dominican State Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) has blamed the deaths of a young husband and wife who were electrocuted in their bed on "the historical laziness with which the electric sector has been handled". The CDEEE says that it do everything possible to help the family of the victims. El Caribe says that the victims were electrocuted when a 7,200-volt cable fell on their house. CDEEE spokespersons said that the technical report on the incident was not yet complete.
