Eddy Brito sent to maximum security

Eddy Brito, who until this week was considered to be a minor accomplice in Jose Figueroa Agosto's money laundering schemes, was removed from the general prison population and placed in a maximum security cell after it was revealed that he was one of the top five operatives in the Puerto Rican drug baron's smuggling network. Earlier this week, a Federal Grand Jury in Puerto Rico issued a 12-count indictment that included Brito and 16 others. El Caribe newspaper says that a source reported that there was a lot of nervousness among the people accused of money laundering in the Dominican courts along with Brito when he was shifted to maximum security. The extradition request comes after the grand jury indictments were handed down.
