CONEP urges signing of Education Pact

National Business Council (CONEP) president Lisandro Macarrulla said yesterday that the pact for the quality of education is an important step forward for the country. He said that the project is ready and that the group that produced the project is only waiting for the President of the Republic to sign it. He said that the "Social Pact for the Quality of the Dominican Education at all Levels, for the Promotion of Science and Technology as the Basis of Social Development", which was written by the mixed commission that was appointed by the Presidential Palace, is in the hands of Monsignor Agripino Nunez Collado, and they are only waiting for the President to set a date for the signing. Macarrulla described the pact as a "transcendental step" which will unite the country behind the most important issue it faces for the nation's social and economic development.
