The integrated text being used in public schools for students from first to fourth grades since September also contains a conceptual weakness when it comes to mathematics in those grades. The text was analyzed by an expert in the area who spends her time training teachers in the public sector through a program called "Effective Schools", and she says that in some cases they use concepts with which the children have had no contact. The specialist, who asked not to be identified, said that the main problem with the books is the handling of the units in a fractionalized manner. Although she recognizes that the activities in the area of mathematics are good, dynamic, creative and fun, they have the problem of not having exercises for the students to develop the mathematic concepts.
