The Center for Exports and Investments (CEI-DR) reports that in the first ten months of the year exports were up by 15% over the same period last year. The increase was led in part by an 18% increase in the traditional exports (coffee, cacao, sugar and tobacco) as well as increased exports from the mining sector. Perhaps the biggest jump came from exports to Haiti which saw a 38% increase, according to a report in El Caribe. In numbers, the exports for the first ten months of 2009 were US$3.855 billion and for 2010 they were US$4.442 billion.
