Hacienda Minister Vicente Bengoa told the press that the 2011 National Budget submitted to Congress would be modified, as reported in El Dia. Nevertheless, he expects it to be approved next week. He said that the central government had reached an agreement with the legislators. The ruling PLD party holds the majority in Congress. He said the advantage this year is that the budget is being studied by a bicameral commission, made up of both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. He said that this means that if it is approved by the Senate, it will also be passed in the Chamber of Deputies.
