A new Gallup-Hoy poll shows that Leonel Fernandez (PLD), Milagros Ortiz Bosch (PRD) and Eduardo Estrella (PRSC) lead the popularity polls within their respective parties, and mostly by wide margins. The closest battle is between Ortiz Bosch who leads Virgilio Bello Rosa (PRD) by 17.8% against 15.4% in the opinion of the general public. However, within the party, it appears that former Santo Domingo Mayor Fello Subervi Bonilla (PRD) might well be the winner over Miguel Vargas Maldonado (PRD) and Ortiz Bosch. Among the general public Eduardo Estrella leads Amable Aristy Castro (PRSC) by 47.8% to 27.3%. President Leonel Fernandez enjoys a thirty point lead over his nearest challenger Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal (PLD).
