President Leonel Fernandez traveled to Argentina yesterday and will also be visiting Brazil and the US during his five-day trip. In Argentina, he is attending the 20th Ibero-American Heads of State and Government Summit in Mar de Plata. The President is scheduled to return on Monday. Fernandez is traveling with Education and Economy ministers Melanio Paredes and Temistocles Montas.
This year's summit focuses on education. In a report prepared for the event, the DR appears second only to Ecuador as the country with the lowest level of education spending in Latin America.
