The administrator and president of the board of the Plaza Central shopping center are required to make court appearances on the first Monday of every month for the next six months as an investigation into electricity fraud at the center is under way.
Hugo Molina and Enrique Gil were released from serving time in jail by Judge Jose Alejandro Vargas yesterday. They were arrested on Tuesday after EdeSur accused them of electricity fraud. The Electricity Affairs Prosecutors Office alleges that Plaza Central unilaterally installed electricity grids from a 2,500kilowatt transformer and the consumption of energy was not registered by the shopping mall power meter, as reported in El Nacional.
