On Friday night, the Leones del Escogido traveled to Santiago to take on the Aguilas Cibaenas. Once again the result was a victory for the Leones 5-4, their fourth victory in five trips to the Estadio Cibao. Justin Turner hit a three-run homer for the Leones. In Santo Domingo's veteran Estadio Quisqueya, the Tigres del Licey, going through one of their worst seasons ever, played host to the league-leading Toros del Este. They lost 5-3, mostly blamed on two consecutive passed balls by the catcher Robinson Diaz that allowed the Toros to score the winning runs. Over in San Pedro de Macoris, a clutch hit by Chris Davis gave the Estrellas Orientales a tenth-inning, game-winning run. The Gigantes del Cibao had managed to tie the game in the sixth inning and both teams had missed opportunities in the remaining innings.

On Saturday, the Estrellas travelled to Santo Domingo to face the Tigres del Licey. Henry Sosa, pitching for the Estrellas, gave up three runs in the bottom of the third inning, as the Tigres game from two runs down to take the lead. However, in the fifth and eighth innings the Estrellas put up two runs each and they took the game 6-3. This was the fourth straight loss for Licey. In San Francisco de Macoris, the Gigantes del Cibao welcomed the Leones del Escogido. By the end of the night the Gigantes had defeated the Leones 7-3, with Victor Diaz hitting the 40th home run of his Dominican baseball career. The victory takes the Gigantes into a tie with the Aguilas Cibaenas, who fell to the league leading Toros del Este, 6-3 in a game played in La Romana.

On Sunday, the "Eternal Rivals" met once again in the Estadio Quisqueya. The Tigres took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but could not hang on to it. They fell behind in the third inning as hits by Jesus Valdez, Jerry Turner and Willie Otanez produce two runs. Escogido built a 6-1 lead by the ninth inning and a rally by the Tigres fell one run short, losing 6-5 for their fifth straight loss. In San Pedro de Macoris, the Estellas received the visit of the league-leading Toros del Este. The Tetelo Vargas Stadium witnessed a see-saw battle which saw the lead change a couple of times until the eighth inning when four hits and a walk let them overcome a 7-4 deficit and take only their third win in 11 games against the Toros. The victory gave the Estrellas a tie in first place. In Santiago, the Aguilas Cibaenas hosted the Gigantes del Cibao and eked out a 2-1 victory behind excellent pitching from John Halama and a series of relief pitchers and key hitting from Kevin Barker. It was the first time that the Aguilas were able to defeat the pitching of Fabio Castro. Castro had not allowed a run in 24 innings pitched against the Aguilas. The victory put the Aguilas into the fourth and final playoff spot, and ended a two-game slide.
