Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) will go over the results of the elections held on 28 November. At least two people were injured by gunshots in new disturbances that occurred in the capital yesterday.
Although some Haitian media outlets had reported the death of one person in the incidents, Diario Libre says this death has not been confirmed. The protests unleashed since the results of the elections were announced, resulted in four deaths on Wednesday and yesterday there were further demonstrations and violent protests. Presidential hopeful Mirlande Manigat, who led the vote in the first round with 31.37%, welcomed the news of the review of the election results.
