Onamet forecasts showers

A low-pressure trough located south of the island will bring occasional showers to much of the national territory, according to reports from the National Meteorological Office (Onamet). The rains are expected in the southeast, south, northeast and in the Central Mountains. Onamet also issued small craft warnings for the Atlantic Coast of the Dominican Republic, due to unusually heavy wave action. Samana Bay and the Caribbean shore do not present any problems for small craft. Santo Domingo and the National District will be partly cloudy with occasional rains. Rains are also expected in the east and in La Romana.
