The full body of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) will continue its disciplinary hearing against the judge for Execution of Sentences for San Cristobal, Francisco Mejia Angomas, because he released three drug traffickers who had been sentenced to ten years in prison, according to Diario Libre.

In today's session, the Attorney General of the Republic will produce as witnesses his Deputy, Bolivar Sanchez, the director of Internal Affairs, the Central Region director of the National Police, Juan Ramon de la Cruz Martinez, the chief prosecutor of the San Cristobal Appeals Court, Jesus Fernandez Velez, his deputies Francia Calderon Collado and Rigoberto Santa del Rosario, as well as Patricia Lagombe, the director of the Najayo Women's Care Center. The SCJ suspended the magistrate after he was questioned about the release of brothers Anthony Erisky and Edwin Rafael Manzano Garcia and Angel Wilson Adames Pena, who had all been sentenced to 10-year jail terms for drug trafficking. Judge Mejia Angomas' defense team is headed by lawyer Pedro Duarte Canaan, who says that there is no basis for the accusation against his client.
