The Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) could manage US$480 million in a trust fund administered by the World Bank, writes Listin Diario, reporting on a meeting held in Santo Domingo yesterday. Attending were President Leonel Fernandez, former US President Bill Clinton, former Prime Minister of Jamaica and Caricom special representative Percival J. Patterson and Gabriel Verret, executive director of the interim commission. The funds will be allocated to projects that improve the quality of life in Haiti. The funds will also be used on completing the removal of a remaining 40% of debris from the January 2010 earthquake. This is the fourth meeting of the IHRC.
