The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported chilly weather would continue today as a front moves over from Puerto Rico. Onamet reported lows of 9.5C for Constanza and high of 27C.
The Onamet bulletin also said that high surf off the North Shore was going to be dangerous and recommended that small craft not venture out of port.
The "intense" cold has caused Dominican to bundle up according to the El Caribe. Along the major thoroughfares and shopping areas people were observed using overcoats and heavier than usual clothing and shoes.
