Taxi to Sosua is $75 from Santiago, that is the set price... it might be $80 now as this was a couple months ago.

It is late for the clubs but some of the taxi drivers speak english and can hook you up. also someone said here before the people at the cabana can get you a girl. If you opt for that and they can't you have nothing.

It's amazing how many guys will jump on someone for asking an innocent question and even basically call you out s stupid for looking to save money or have a different experience.

It would cost about $20 to get from STI into Sosua by bus, less than $40 even if you needed or chose to stay at a Cabaņa for a few hours, about $75 or $80 including a chica at the cabaņa....or you could choose to just spend the $80 for a taxi to Sosua=boring.

I'm guessing you saved more than $200 per person so in the end you'll get to keep most of it, have had a different and potentially very enjoyable experience and still save a bunch of cash. Sounds ridiculous to me....to knock you for it that is!

Ok, I'm going to give you the first sane answer. Here's what you do....

Grab a cab at the airport taxi stand and tell him you want:
a) a couple of cute chicas
b) a cabana close by
c) his phone number so you can use him during your trip (just don't tell him you're going to the bus station in the morning) This will put him somewhat in your court

In the morning, call your cabbie, lose the chicas, get breakfast, and have him drop you at the bus station. Busses leave like every 30 minutes, so it don't matter what time you get there.

Trust me, that's a great plan.

I thought it was an innocent question. Thought it would be cool to share a cab with someone with a little local knowledge...pick his brain and save a few pesos.

Some of you guys need to check your medication or up the doseage. Thanks to all who helped a newbie out.
Just talk to ppl when you get off the plane. particularly ppl who look like theyre headed to the beach

the whole topic sounds very complicated.
So far this is the only post in the whole thread that makes any sense to me.

Not to confuse you even more...
but I would look into the Sosua Bay Beach Club.

It's the chica friendly side of the Sosua Bay Resort.
$50 per night with free buffet breakfast. Right on the water..20 yards from After one...and 2.5 city blocks from Classicos.

Wow, one simple question about sharing cab to Sosua gets more responses than a lot of trip reports.

OP, I sent an email to NG yesterday to check on my reservations and I got a response back from Lorenzo tonight confirming them. I think Wilfried is on vacation again so responses might be slow.

Trip reports to many are secondary.

Check out the thread about the Weather Patterns of the North Coast from a few years back. I think someone actually got stabbed during that one.
