Major Leagues pitcher Alfredo Simon surrendered to the Police today. He is accused of accidentally murdering 25-year old Esteban Castillo Almonte and injuring the latter's brother, 17-year old Starlin Castillo during a "celebration" shooting on occasion of the New Year festivities. The accident occurred in a central park in the community of Los Salados, Luperon (Puerto Plata) on 31 December.
Starlin Castillo is hospitalized. Esteban Castillo died at the Centro Medico Bournigal in Puerto Plata of an injury in the torax.
