The Chamber of Deputies will tackle the Organic Law of the Constitutional Court and of the Constitutional Processes during an extraordinary legislative session, which President Leonel Fernandez will call for this specific purpose on 12 January. That is the date the second session of the legislature ends. The session began last 16 August and no legislative sessions are planned, and no commissions are working before the twelfth, which is the reason why any consideration of the measure will not be undertaken before the end of the legislative period. The legislation was passed by the Senate with modifications that have caused a lot of debate.

The Chamber of Deputies closed out its legislative work until the eleventh of this month, a day before the ordinary session ends. It is understood that the reason for the inactivity is to facilitate the reaching of an agreement that will allow the approval of the legislative initiative, which needs a special two-thirds approval of the deputies present in order to pass.

Diario Libre says that the PLD does not have the votes to pass the proposal as it was passed in the Senate, and the opposition PRD is maintaining its stance of opposition to the changes introduced by the Senate to the original bill.
