Speaking at an event at the Presidential Palace yesterday, President Leonel Fernandez presented the details of the Higher Education Center at Limonade that the Dominican government will donate to Haiti. The cost of the university is estimated at US$30 million and will be financed by the Dominican government and private builders.
President Leonel Fernandez said that the construction would be completed in time for the second anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, on 12 January 2012. Milka Garrido is in charge of the implementation of the project that will have 78 classrooms for 30 students each, spread among four buildings. There will be labs, a virtual classroom, a library, a multi-use hall, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a student services center and a covered central plaza.
