Hey guys.

I usually fly to Santo Domingo. Everytime I grab a cab and tell them to take me to the Intercontinental Hotel, they say the cab fare is $30 or 900 pesos.

Is this true?

Cab driver: "My friend, do you like massage? Chica!!! Chica!!!"

Me: "I JUST GOT HERE!!! :x "

I think the official fares are posted. BC is supposed to be $18, they always try for more. I would think 20 - 25 is the fare to Santo Domingo.

Thanks bud! :D

Once I got to the hotel, the cab driver told me to come out in 10 minutes so that he can show me around. I forgot his name. He drove a vanilla-colored Hyundai Touring wagan.

He was a f*g. LOL

He also charges 30 bucks but will be waiting for you at the airport if you wish. If you tell him the guy from dominicanchicas sent ya he will come get you for 25 bucks. He knows all the hidden places in SDQ and that is more important these days with all the closings etc.

I got a ride from Santo Domingo Taxi last June from Bella Vista to the airport for $RD400. Since I didn't use them since then I am not sure what they are now charging.

Thank you for your feedback.

And I thank everyone else for your feedback.

I called him two months ago (before leaving for Santo Domingo), but unfortunately, he does not speak English. So we couldn't reach any agreement. :(

SDQ is easy...

1. Grab your bags & clear customs.
2. Walk outside, ignore everyone.
3. Make a U turn (to the right) after the bars funneling people out to the street.
4. Go back into the airport.
5. Go up the stairs.
6. Go outside to the departure level.
7. Grab a local taxi or even cheaper hop on a Gua-Gua.
8. (Optional) Flip off the tourist taxi mafioso on your way out of the airport.

Seems like the mafioso cab drivers have even taken over the bus stations now. Wanted 400 pesos from Puerto Plata to Playa Dorada. Offered him 100 pesos for the trip. He told me to take a motoconcho. So I did. Later, SB

Sounds like a good idea. So what is the cost of a local Taxi for the same trip?

The local taxi, one must be swift and go to departures to get one dropping off people and explain that you know they must leave empty and leave soon.
