The Estrellas defeated the Leones del Escogido 10-1 in Santo Domingo, meaning that this year the series will either be played entirely in the east (San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana) or there will be games in San Francisco de Macoris. The Gigantes defeated the Toros yesterday at the Julian Javier Stadium in San Francisco. The Toros have already classified.
This means the game today at the San Pedro de Macoris Tetelo Vargas Stadium will decide who will match the Toros in the 9-5 playoffs series. It also means this is a first time when the playoffs will not be played in Santo Domingo.
