President sends bond issues to Congress

President Leonel Fernandez has sent two bond issues to the Congress, one for RD$28.2 billion and the other for US$500 million. The local bond issue will be used to cancel debts held by government suppliers dating back to 2005 and the remainder will go to issue Internal Securities for the Ministry of Hacienda. The US$500 million will be used to pay the public debt.
