Prosecutor favors reinforcing border

General Prosecutor Radhames Jimenez Pena says he is in favor of strengthening border controls, given the reality of a possible social and political explosion resulting from the presence of former dictator Jean Claude Duvalier in Haiti. As reported in Listin Diario, Jimenez Pena pointed out the many problems facing Haiti, including the elections, the cholera epidemic and other social issues as possibly leading to such a situation. He said the Dominican Republic should double the controls along the border. Jimenez Pena made his remarks during the opening session of a training session for investigative personnel working on cases of homicide, gender violence and sex offenses.
