The Toros, the favorites to win the 2010-11 Dominican Winter Professional Baseball League Championship won the first game of the playoffs 5-3 at the Francisco Micheli Stadium yesterday. Raul Valdes, a Cuban-born Dominican national, got off to a slow start, but pitched to win the game for the Toros, after the Estrellas batted three runs in the second inning.
Game 2 will be played in San Pedro de Macoris, half an hour to the east.
