I have been to both, once stayed at Rancho but after seeing Gran Jimenoa, returned twice to stay there.

Gran Jimenoa is the nicer of the 2 hotels, but it can be a little pricey on the weekends. There is a really nice hotel in Jarabacoa for 1,800 pesos per night. As you enter the town, you will pass supermercado Jarabacoa, the hotel will be about 2 blocks on the right hand side.

I went during the week the last two times that I went. There were 6 of us in three rooms.

For anyone on a budget, there is a hotel in Jarabacoa city center for 500 pesos per night. The hotel is located across the street from banreservas. 1 minute walk to the main square and park. Jarabacoa is know to have some of the prettist girls in all of DR.

Most of the people that live there are middle class and many can be seen in the restaurants around town.

Most people that come to Jarabacoa are wealthy Dominicans from Santo Domingo. They are only in Jarabacoa on the weekends and holidays.

I used to live in Jarabacoa. There were 10 houses on my street and not one person lived there full time.

I have to agree with that. I have been there six times in the two years.
