Anyone know the best place to look for flights from UK to POP? Best I've found is ~$750 one way from netflights, is that good?

I'm looking for March BTW, first trip.

Cheers.

Try Airflights
www.afdl.net

I used them regularly for five years and got excellent service.

Best I can find for March having just looked is £387 return from Manchester or Gatwick. Includes taxes and charges but some bits may be extra like meals and surplus luggage.

You will have to "waste" the return leg (no refunds for it and you cannot transfer it to someone else).

You will be flying on a cattle wagon with wings. These are spare seats on aircraft servicing package holidays.

For the return trip you will have to keep enquiring until a spare one-way to UK seat becomes available so you will need a two- to four-week window of opportunity. That is to say, you cannot rely on picking your exact date. I have never done this myself but I believe they are sold at a fixed price around US$400 (if and when available) but please check.

Alternatively you may be able to book a return trip for a specific date while still in the UK. In this case you would have to waste the "outward" leg UK to POP. Not sure if that is possible that far ahead as you may have problems accessing the ticket. You cannot book from the DR.

Let us know how you get on. I used to know it all inside out but things have changed, and not for the better, over the last year.

I am English and emigrated to Puerto Plata in August 2009. PM me if I can be of any help. (I just love guys with numerals in their handle ).

Also look for recent information in the Airline Info section of www.DR1.com and if there is none post your question there.
