On Saturday, 29 January, President Leonel Fernandez is scheduled to travel from Switzerland to India, with a first stop in Mumbai for meetings with film industry executives. On Sunday, 30 January he is due to hold a meeting with executives of the Essar Group, a multinational conglomerate and a leading player in the sectors of Steel, Oil & Gas, Power, Communications, Shipping Ports & Logistics, Construction and Minerals. With operations in more than 20 countries across five continents, the group employs 70,000 people, with revenues of about US$15 billion.

On the 30th he will meet with Milind Murli Deora, a parliamentary youth leader.

On Monday, 31 January he will speak on business opportunities for investment in the DR, to a group of business representatives at the Chamber of Indian Industries. He will also visit the installations of Tata. He will also be visiting the headquarters of the Export-Import Bank of India, the government entity that backs Indian exports by providing loans to foreign countries.

On Tuesday, 1 February, he is scheduled to speak at the Summit of Southern India for the Federation of Indian Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises. He will also visit the headquarters of the Indian Institute of Management and the Indian Institute of Science.

In the afternoon, he will travel to New Delhi where he will meet with members of the Federation of Indian Industries. On Thursday, 3 February, he will attend the inauguration of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit 2011. Speaking at the event is Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

President Fernandez is scheduled to return to Santo Domingo on a private flight from New York on 6 February.
