Two Haitian children found inside a church in Puerto Plata did not die of cholera. The two were found together with four others who were alive but in a very serious condition. The parents of the children told authorities how the children had suffered vomiting, stomachaches and some diarrhea on Monday night and died. The parents took the children to a local church used by the Haitians to see if the pastor could revive the children with religious rites. Regional Public Health director Waddy Musa told reporters from El Nuevo Diario that the people who attend that church engage in "strange worship" and often fast for several days at a time. The Police say that they are investigating the parents of the two dead children to find out what really happened. The bodies of the two children, who were 9 and 3 years old, were sent to the Regional Forensic Institute to establish the cause of death.
